What To Do When You Are Bored As An Introvert

Bored as an introvert is indeed a difficult situation. I mean, for our extrovert counterparts, they would imply taking a night out to get rid of the boredom. But what to do when you are bored as an introvert?

Do you crawl back into your unsocial hole overthinking (because there is nothing else to do)? Or, do you find ways to socialize, which seems like a recipe for draining energy?

So, as a professional introvert (that is a title I gave myself), I do this when I am bored!

What To Do When You Are Bored As An Introvert

 1. Find Creative Outlets

Find Creative Outlets

Unleashing your inner creativity in your alone time is the perfect way to engage. You do not have to get too social; you can simply enjoy yourself.

Isn’t that how it was always meant to be?

Some of the creative outlets that are a perfect remedy for boredom are:

  • Candle and soap making.
  • Reading a new book.
  • Taking a virtual class, etc.

Anything and everything that will make you feel more creative and forget about your boredom.

 2. Have a Meaningful Conversation With Your Person

Have a Meaningful Conversation With Your Person

Contrary to popular belief, we like a deep conversation when bored. After all, from trying not to talk all day, every day, we also need that conversational outlet.

Unfortunately, it cannot be just with anyone. Therefore, you can fully expect us not to go out, go to parties, and just start a meaningful conversation with someone.

However, introverts will understand the power of that one deep conversation with that special someone.

So, why not call up your favorite person and strike up some deep talk?

 3. Learn Different Conversational Starters

Conversational starters are a fun way to get you all socializing when you cannot make some of the people.

Picture this!

How many times have you found yourself sweating because you didn’t know how to talk to someone? It is not always that you do not like socializing; sometimes, you do want to talk to someone.

So, why not sit with a laptop in the quiet of the night and simply read through all the conversational starters?

 4. Take A Virtual Trip Somewhere

Take A Virtual Trip Somewhere

Yes, introverts are not the greatest spontaneous travelers. Plus, packing your bag and simply going for a trip is not the answer you are expecting when asking, ‘what to do when you are bored.’

But you still would want to see some of the places out there. With the help of VR, you can now take a trip anywhere, still kept within your home grounds.

As a fellow introvert, I would suggest the army invest in a good VR set. Not to completely eradicate normal travel from your life but also to have a different experience when you’re not willing to pack your bags.

 5. Have An Alone Home Movie Date Night

Have An Alone Home Movie Date Night

Introverts love to spend time with themselves. But the boredom comes when they do not have the outlet of self-care. Sometimes, even the silence can be too much for an introvert!

Yes, it can!

It might sound odd, but yes, we do have our days. So, this is what I do!

  • I put up a cozy nook or a tent. Then, cover it with the most comfortable comforters, pillows, and duvets. You can simply set the scene on your pillow.
  • Putting up fair lights can also improve the ambiance. Especially something with warm yellow or champagne lights.
  • Find the perfect movie. Trust us, this activity alone will take all your boredom out.
  • No need to cook something. Yes, this could be your cheat day. Order some Pizza.

Then, you can finally sit for the most comfortable movie marathon of your life.

The best part about this entire activity is the whole set-up of it. There is nothing better for introverts than to have something to do alone, in their own solidarity.

 6. Find Fanfictions To Read

Find Fanfictions To Read

Sometimes, whenever you look for answers what to do when you are bored, the first thing that comes up is:

Read books!

Although, most of the time, it works. They are the absolute best if you are an introvert and a bookworm.

However, sometimes even the fiction doesn’t work. This is one of the reasons why you need to delve into the best fantasy, aka your favorite fantasy world, but with a twist.

Yes, I am talking about going to the internet and finding some of the best fanfiction from your favorite book or movie-verse. Get a warm beverage with the best lighting, and jump right into an alternate reality that you love.

With such weapons at your hand, you never ask what to do when you are bored as an introvert again!
